N-Korean foreign minister leaves for Russia to coordinate leader Kim's visit

North Korea's foreign minister, Choe Son Huihas left Pyongyang for an official visit to Russia on Monday. Russian officials said that Choe is expected to hold talks with the Russian side to lay groundwork for a visit by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The officials said the visit is likely to take place by the end of the year.

The discussions are expected to cover the deployment of North Korean troops to Russia.Choe and Russian officials also plan to discuss ways to further develop cooperative ties between the two countries following the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty.The treaty includes a promise of mutual military assistance if either country is attacked.
