Myaungmya Trip: Exhibition opening and Kayin New Year Festival

Member of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung on Thursday attended opening of the Mya Sein Yaung Exhibition on the Mya Sein Yaung Hill in Myaungmya Township and ceremonially opened the exhibition together with Ayeyawaddy Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and many other concerned officials.

And, at the exhibition, the SAC Member and party visited the booths displaying the KayinTraditional Culture, agriculture and livestock, agricultural research, rice, bronze and silver items, ancient Buddha images and stones. And, the SAC Member and party attended roads opening ceremony in commemoration of the Kayin New Year and inspected the roads.

On the Mya Sein Yaung Hill, the SAC Member and party participated in the Kayin New Year festival which began with striking the Phasi Drum and a traditional Don dance performance. The SAC Member also read out the message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General ThadoeMaha ThayaySithu Thadoe ThiriThudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

And, the Chief Minister highlighted the State Administration Council’s efforts for prosperity and food security in the country and called for cooperation. This Kayin New Year festival continued with traditional norms and reading out a message sent by Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs. And, the SAC Member and party enjoyed a traditional performance and presented cash award to the artistes.
