Myanmar/China: Visits and discussions on immigration issues

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, who is currently in China, visited the Shweli Border Gate. There, the Union Minister heard information on the history of the gate and entry/exit of the Myanmar and Chinese people.

And, the Union Minister visited the Shwe Nan Taw Immigration Gate in Myanmar side and inspected immigration process with the use of Border Pass and Temporary Border Pass. There, he also heard reports on matters including Muse area situation, opening of border gates, trading condition and cooperation with the Chinese officials for immigration processes.

In his response, the Union Minister highlighted the importance of border gates for trade and travel, security measures, immigration process and cooperation. Also, in Shweli Township, the Union Minister held talks with concerned Chinese officials on border gates, entry/exit of the Myanmar and Chinese people, trade and security matters.
