Myanmar Women’s Day: Commemorative event held in Loikaw

In commemoration of Myanmar Women’s Day which falls on 3rd July, a ceremony was held in Loikaw of Kayah State with the attendance of Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin. The ceremony was inaugurated with “Mingalabar” song performance of students from Loikaw Education Degree College.

In his opening remarks, the Chief Minister highlighted the efforts of the government in promoting the participation of women in sector wise activities, gender equality, generating job opportunities for women as well as women protection and empowerment measures. He also called for the concerted efforts of the relevant individuals in protecting women’s rights.

Then, a commemorative video clip was screened. After enjoying the stage performances of the students from No.1 Basic Education High School, Loikaw Education Degree College and Basic Education Middle School (Dawtama), the Chief Minister presented honorary cash awards for the performance groups.
