







2024 Myanmar Women’s Day ceremony was held at Myanmar International Convention Center 2 (MICC-II) in Nay Pyi Taw with the attendance of the Honorary Patron of Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, wife of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaingsent a video message to the ceremony.
Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win in his capacity of Chairman of Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs made clarification on implementations of promoting women’s empowerment and countering gender-based violence for the development of women.
A video clip of the 12 critical areas of National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women 2023-2024 was also screened during the event.
Dr. San San Aye, Director General, Department of Social Welfare, said " Myanmar Women’s Day is held annually to encourage all the women form the respective sectors and to recognize their significant contributions. During the ceremony, the National-level strategic plan for the advancement of women (2023-2032) was launched by screening a video clip. There are two main sectors in the national-level strategic plan; the advancement of the women and the elimination of gender-base terrorism. I would like to encourage all the Myanmar women from all sectors to actively participate in developing the nation."
During the ceremony, the winners of outstanding female police officer, outstanding female athletes with disabilities, students who pass the 2023-2024 Matriculation Exam with highest marks and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of essay competitions were presented honourable trophies, certificates of honour and cash rewards.
Aye Chan Pyae Mon, Highest Achievement in Arts, said " I would like to encourage the students to strive for the best outcomes even they encounter some difficulties during their study. It’s also important to concentrate during the class and to revise the lessons. I’m very happy to receive the award as I tried my best for the exam."
The ceremony also staged the commemorative song performed by the vocalists from Myanma Radio and Television and dance performance of artists from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture. The commemorative booths were also displayed to mark the Myanmar Women’s Day.
