






The Walking Thingyan will be added into the Myanmar Traditional Thingyan Festival 2023 in Mandalay for locals to enjoy. There will be 11 pandals for water throwing and 16 pandals for refreshments around the Mandalay moats included the entertainment programs, pavilions to donate charity feasts, water throwing pandals and other programs.
Kyaw San, Mayor, Mandalay Region Government, said " In this year, there will be 6 pandals in 26th street, 4 pandals in 66th street and other places will also have the pandals to donate charity feasts and water throwing. Also we will add the walking Thingyan along 26th street in the Chanmyathazi Township. About 7 zones included main pandal have been set and decorated inside the walking Thingyan."
Soe Naing Oo, Deputy Managing Director, MDY Management Corporation Co., Ltd, said " To preserve the Myanmar traditional cultural image, we have set and decorated 6 zones in the walking Thingyan such as Starlight zone, Art street zone, Wood street zone, Water street zone, Floating street zone and so on. The main pandal have 3 stages and the water shooting system and soap forming system are included."
Zin Mar Tun, Business Development Director, New Starlight Group of Companies, said " Snacks and cold drinks will be served in the walking Thingyan and the entertainment program is scheduled everyday from 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. We also invited the famous celebrities and singers to entertain."
In the northern and western sections of the moats, the arrangements have been made to enjoy the Maha Thingyan festival with water pumps and the Zay Cho Thu water pandal is set up near the clock tower of the Mandalay Zaygyo market to the accompaniment of Myoma Band.
