In preparation for the inscription of Myanmar's Thanakha on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a pre-event campaign and a pre-commemoration of "Myanmar Thanakha Day," which falls on Union Day, February 12, coinciding with the full moon day of Tabodwe, were held at the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw)  on February 11.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mya Zan, relevant officials, teachers and students from the post-primary school (Nyaung Pin Gyi Su), and teachers and students from Honey Tree Private Primary School. During the event, librarians from the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw) explained the history, traditions, and benefits of Myanma Thanakha.

They also displayed books and papers related to Thanakha, screened video documentaries, and provided website links for further exploration of Thanakha-related topics. Additionally, students recited poems about Thanakha, performed Thanakha-themed poetry recitations, and were given the opportunity to apply Thanakha themselves.

Thanakha was also applied to the students by the organizers. Similarly, it has been reported that the Department of Archaeology and National Museums under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, along with cultural museums, and libraries in Regions and States, have been urged to organize "Thanakha Week" or "Thanakha Month" activities throughout February to commemorate Myanmar Thanakha Day.
