Myanmar-Russia: UEC Chairman received delegation of Russian State Duma

The Chairman of Union Election Commission U Ko Ko received a delegation led by Mr. Sholban Kara-Ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at the UEC office's reception hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the UEC Chairman discussed the implementation on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the UEC and the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, ongoing collaborative activities, and future opportunities for cooperation.

He also briefed the delegation on preparations underway to ensure the successful holding of an election.In response, Mr. Sholban Kara-Ool provided an overview of the structure and operations of the State Duma, potential areas for collaboration between the two countries, and ways Russia could assist Myanmar in conducting successful elections.

Additionally, the Russian Federation’s Ambassador to Myanmar inquired about election-related matters.The UEC Chairman addressed the questions raised, providing detailed explanations and openly discussing the ongoing efforts and measures being taken to ensure the success of the elections.The meeting was attended by members of the Union Election Commission and officials from the UEC office.
