Myanmar National Education Conference (2023): 3-day conference commenced in Nay Pyi Taw

Myanmar National Education Conference (2023) commenced in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The conference was formally opened by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, SAC members and the Union Ministers. The Prime Minister later unveiled the arch way of the conference.

In his speech, the Prime Minister said the conference was held with the aim to promote and create better education system in the future. 11 related ministries jointly organized the conference. It will include roundtable discussions and paper reading sessions.

Through this conference, the obstacles, crises and challenges that hinder the education promotion of the country could be tackled. With the collective discussions, the future action plans for development of education sector will be able to adopt.

He highlighted that the government is carrying out for enrollment of all school aged children and completion of KG+9 education at least. The achievement could be made with the collective efforts as a national duty. He added that the government is also provided increased allocation for education sector.

Over 3,146 billion budget allotment have been granted for the Ministry of Education and related ministries. This allotment is 9.48% of the Union Budget and 2.18% of the GDP. He urged all the experts to make open discussions for betterment of future Myanmar education sector.

The Prime Minister later accepted the commemorative gift for the Myanmar National Education Conference (2023), presented by Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe. After the photo session the Prime Minister and party viewed round the displays of booths by 11 ministries.

A dinner reception in honour of the Myanmar National Education Conference (2023) was also held with the attendance of the Prime Minister. This is the very first Myanmar National Education Conference jointly organized by 11 ministries related to the education sector. The conference will be held from 18th to 20th May.
