Myanmar National Booth: Vice President Attends Opening Ceremony

Vice President U Myint Swe who is currently in Nanning, attended opening ceremony of Myanmar National Booth at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre in China on Friday and observed commodity booths.

On Friday morning, the Vice President and party arrived at the Free Trade Port Area Management Committee Office in Qinzhou where they were welcomed by Qinzhou Vice Mayor Liu Renshan and officials.

The Vice President and party then looked into scale model of Free Trade Port Area of Qinzhou. The Deputy Head of Free Trade Port Area Management Committee and the Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Section of the Committee explained about salient points of the Free Trade Port Area and Free Trade Test Zone (Qinzhou) as well as future plans.

On arrival at Qinzhou Container Port, the Vice President and party also viewed around construction of container port and progressive of works. In the afternoon of that day, the Vice President and party proceeded to Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre where Myanmar National Booth to be opened. There, Standing Committee Member of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Communist Party and Secretary of Political and Legal Affairs Committee Huang Shiyong and officials welcomed the Vice President and party.

Vice President U Myint Swe, Union Minister Dr. Than Myint and the Minister of Magwe Region Government formally opened Myanmar National Booth and enjoyed the entertainment of the cultural troupe.

The Vice President and party later observed Myanmar National Booth displaying Magwe as a City of Charm and displays of commodity booths representing Myanmar at 16th China-ASEAN Expo.

About 600 Myanmar entrepreneurs display booths on Myanma coffee and tea leaf products, Myanma handicrafts, gems and jewelries, finished wood products, fruits, Myanma traditional medicines, rattan wares and furniture, samples of Myanma agricultural products and foodstuff worth over 1.937 million kyats totaling 169 booths at the 16th China-ASEAN Expo.
