





Commemorating the 104th anniversary of Myanmar Motion Picture Day, a respect paying to senior artists was held at the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization in Yangon Sunday. Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the ceremony, formally opened the ceremony, together with officials.
This was followed by opening of the Centennial Squares and the statue of pioneers of Motion Picture Industry. During the ceremony, Union Minister handed over 10 million kyat donated by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and family for the senior artists.
27.8 million cash donation and DTH receivers were also made by the donors of individuals and organizations. The very first Myanmar movie “Metta Hnint Thu Rah” was screened on 13th October 1920, and that day was designated as the Myanmar Motion Picture Day. This year’s event is the 47th celebration of this historic day, organizing the respect paying ceremonies to the senior artists.
