Myanmar Medical Council: MMC Executive Committee’s meeting

On 12th January, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the Executive Committee’s meeting (1/2025) of Myanmar Medical Council at the Department of Medical Research in Yangon.

At the meeting, the Union Minister expressed his appreciation to the current committee members for their strenuous efforts in promoting nation’s medical sector and serving the well being of patients.  He also elaborated the systematic selection of the new executive committee members for the 3rd 4-year period of the committee. Highlighting the crucial role of the Myanmar Medical Council in development of Private Health Sector, the Union Minister  instructed on offering safe and qualified healthcare services.

The Union Minister stressed for systematic supervision on Aesthetic clinics, identifying illegal clinics and taking action as well as spreading awareness among public to prevent unnecessary problems. He also urged all of the medical personnel to serve the interest of the nation and people upholding medical ethics.

Next, Chairman of the Myanmar Medical Council Prof. Dr. Khin Maung Aye clarified the work implementations of the council during 2nd 4-year period and selection of the new members for 3rd 4-year period.

Subsequently, patron of the council and members of the executive committee made sector wise discussions. Then, the Union Minister coordinated requirements and concluded the meeting.
