Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge : Progress of Dala Bridge construction inspected

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, together with Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials, visited the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge construction site on July 12 to inspect work progress.

They viewed the installation of noise barriers along the approach road to reduce traffic noise for nearby residents, connection works between the main bridge and approach roads, construction status of pedestrian bridges, toll plaza, and maintenance facilities as well as the safety measures for waterway traffic during construction.

The Union Minister emphasized the need to complete the bridge on schedule, ensure high-quality standards, and follow international specifications. The bridge is designed with a 160-ft clearance and 998-ft width to allow large cargo and domestic vessels to pass underneath. Once completed, it will significantly improve connectivity between Yangon and towns in Ayeyawady Region, such as Dala, Twantay, Dedaye, and beyond, boosting regional development.
