Myanmar-India Cooperation: MoIP Union Minister receives Indian Ambassador

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U MyintKyaing received a delegation led by Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Abhay Thakur at the meeting hall of the Ministry on Wednesday.

At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on granting visa exemption for people of both countries, processing on the re-opening of international border gates especially Tamu-Moreh border gate, search and rescue operations for India nationals according to the list of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and repatriation process without taking action base on bilateral friendship.

The discussion also focused on development of e-ID system through the study of India’s Aadhaar system, with the implementation on the suggestions made by the technical experts from the Department of External Affairs of India and the National Institute of Smart Government (NISG) on the process of e-ID system.  They also discussed for promoting bilateral cooperation on technical issues for immigration process and e-ID system.
