




State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, along with a delegation including Union Ministers from the Ministries of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation; Electric Power; Industry; Commerce; and Hotels and Tourism as well as the Deputy Minister for Information and various other ministerial personnel left Yangon for Russia on September 1st.
At the invitation of Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Executive Secretary of the Forum Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov, the delegation attended 9th Eastern Economic Forum held from September 3rd to 6th in Vladivostok, Russian Federation. Since its inception in 2015, the Eastern Economic Forum sought to strengthen ties between the Russian Federation and global investment communities, while evaluating the economic prospects of the Russian Far East, investment opportunities and business conditions within advanced special economic zones.
On September 3rd, the Myanmar delegation met with Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Mr. Sholban Kara-ool. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing friendly Myanmar-Russia cooperation, preparations for Myanmar’s upcoming elections and boosting tourist arrival between the two countries.
On September 4th, the Myanmar delegation met with Russian Economic Development Minister Mr.Maksim Reshetnikov and cordially exchanged views on ongoing issues as outlined in the 4th Inter-Governmental Russian-Myanmar Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation meeting, Myanmar-Russian economic cooperation, and the bilateral cooperation roadmap.
Later in the afternoon, they attended a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signing ceremony in the forum's signing hall for the construction of a foliar spray factory in Myanmar, marking a significant agricultural collaboration between Russia and Myanmar.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, and Mr. Maksim Reshetnikov, the Russian Economic Development Minister.Under the (MoC), foliar spray production will proceed as scheduled through collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, and Fund RC-Investments during the initial phase. The subsequent phase will focus on the construction of a natural fertilizer factory.
