

The signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Myanmar Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the China Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) took place in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday afternoon.
During the ceremony, Director-General of the Public Health Department representing the Myanmar CDC and Deputy Director-General of the China CDC signed the MoU. This agreement outlines cooperation in various fields including infectious disease control and prevention such as TB, HIV, dengue fever, and other communicable diseases.
It also covers non-communicable disease prevention and treatment, laboratory capabilities, study tours for health personnel, joint research, and rapid responses to public health emergencies.
The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister for Health Dr. Aye Tun, the commercial attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Yangon and many other Myanmar and Chinese officials.
