Myanmar-China Border Trade: Trade value reached over 1.945 billion USD

During 2022-2023 Fiscal Year, from April to December 2022, the export and import trade value of Myanmar-China border gates reached over 1.945 billion USD. Previously, some commodities can only be traded using USD. Since November 2022, both Chinese Yuan and American dollar can be used in trading at Myanmar-China border gates.

U Yan Naing Lwin, Director, Ministry of Commerce, said " In 2022-2023 Fiscal Year, from April 2022 to December 2022, the export value of Myanmar-China border gates reached over 1.635 billion USD and import value reached 310.215 million USD. Natural gas, rice, broken rice, green gram, sesame, corn, fish, rubber, tissue banana and cane to foreign countries are being exported and steel and steel wares, machines, construction materials, electrical appliances, plastic  raw materials, fertilizers are being imported via Myanmar-China border gates. Exporting banana through Kan Pite Tee border gates is regulated by Customs Department. "

During 2022, Myanmar mainly exported natural gas, green gram, rubber, sesame, corn, rubber, rice, broken rice, fish, prawn, peanut, clothes and mining products and raw metal.
