Myanmar Children’s Day: Ceremony To Mark General Aung San’s Birthday Held In Nay Pyi Taw

A ceremony to mark unveiling Bogyoke Aung San bronze statue was held in conjunction with essay, painting, poem, song, extempore talks and General Aung San’s Speech Contest commemorating Myanmar Children’s Day (General Aung San’s birthday) and prize presentation ceremony at the MICC-II in Nay Pyi Taw, Thursday.

At the event, Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint gave a speech.  On the occasion, the Union Minister praised his admiration to General Aung San, Bogyoke’s character and mind as well as efforts and perseverance for regaining the independence of Myanmar.

He added that General Aung San is recognized as the country’s independence architect and he is still widely admired by Myanmar people. Due to Bogyoke Aung San’s efforts, Myanmar people enjoyed the essence of Independence.

He also said that the ceremony is to commemorate General Aung San and called for preservation this tradition and nurturing Bogyoke’s mind and ability to the younger generation for the perpetual existence of independence and the country’s development.

Next, the Vice Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee explained about unveiling Bogyoke Aung San bronze statue in Nay Pyi Taw. It was followed by General Aung San’s Speech Contest and students from Zeya Thiri Township, Pobba Thiri Township, Lewe Township and Zabuthiri Township took part in the contest.

At the event, the Union Ministers presented prizes to the winning students in the contests to mark Myanmar Children’s Day (General Aung San’s birthday).

The Union Ministers and officials took group photos together the Organizing Committee for Bogyoke Aung San bronze statue and well-wishers for the statue and the winning students.
