Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces General VONG PISEN with the Guard of Honour on Tuesday.
The Senior General and the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces took salute of the Guard of Honour and inspected it in front of Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw.
After the welcoming ceremony, they held talks at the parlour. The discussions also focused on promotion of bilateral trade and Theravada Buddhism; Cambodia’s efforts to build internal peace; and efforts to end armed conflicts and build eternal peace in Myanmar.
The two sides agreed to cement friendship between the two armed forces, cooperate in training and military medicine, sports and culture, and exchange information in fighting terrorism, cross-border crime, human trafficking, drug and arms smuggling.
General VONG PISEN is the first Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces to visit Myanmar. Diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Cambodia have been established since 1955.
