British folk musician Emily Portman discovered in July that a series of AI-generated tracks had been uploaded to her profile, mimicking her style and claiming to be her new album.

She had not released the album herself and said, the uploads were unauthorized. The incident highlights a growing problem for musicians, as AI-generated content exploits the lack of stringent security on streaming platforms.

Similarly, Melbourne-based bassist Paul Bender faced the upload of songs he did not create, which he described as unusual and difficult to have removed. Artists say such cases threaten their work and income, raising concerns about intellectual property and platform accountability.
