Music star DJ Khaled on new album, TV project

Music superstar DJ Khaled announced Thursday that he had signed for Def Jam as a musician. He said it would be a joint venture between his We the Best music label, himself, and Def Jam Records, as part of Universal Music Group, with future music released through Def Jam. He added that he had been named global creative consultant for Universal and would be involved in music, film, marketing and TV projects.

DJ Khaled, music producer and artist said "I always wanted to be an artist at Def Jam, and to be able to (have) Def Jam be my partners, is a beautiful thing, and especially where I'm at in my career. Because I was a music executive at Def Jam, and now I get to be a music executive as well as DJ Khaled. So that means so much to me."

The award-winning musician had worked with Def Jam earlier in his career as a music executive.DJ Khaled has had 13 studio albums. He recently performed the song "God Did" at the Grammy Awards with music superstars.
