MSWRR’s online training courses: Disaster Response and disability lists registration

The opening ceremony of the online training courses on Myanmar Disaster Response Training No. 6 and how to register the disability lists in the Disabled Management Information System (DMIS) Software was held at the Department of Disaster Management on Tuesday.

In her address, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. ThetThetKhine said that The Union Minister said that this training course is aimed for development of human resources in natural disaster management for ministries engaged in union level-natural disaster management and to enable the Myanmar Disaster Response Team to respond in a timely manner.

The order regarding the Natural Disaster Management which was released in July 2022 will be discussed in the course. Based on the order, successive exercises involving 12 working committees will be carried out phase by phase soon. Future disaster response activities are needed to be carried out together with the Myanmar Disaster Response Team and the officials of the Disaster Management Department.

Continuously, Deputy Executive Director from AHA center clarified the background and objectives of opening the Myanmar Disaster Response Team training courses and expressed congratulatory words for opening such training courses for the human resources development. 31 trainees from the 15 departments also joined this training course in person. At the opening ceremony of the online course on how to register disability lists in the Disabled Management Information System (DMIS) Software,  the union mister said that in the house-to-house enumeration,5 basic categories of disabilities was carried out by the field enumeration team and the list of 207,794 disabled persons has been transferred.

DMIS software has been designed to record this information. Online training courses will be launched for 126 staff from social welfare offices of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Region/State, district and township from 28th to 31st May. 5 basic categories of disabilities can be exactly known by using DMIS Software and using the DMIS system will provide benefits such as widespread use of the Digital Platform in addition to disability-related policies, planning and registration of disabled persons, provision of disability support and other services, she added. Also, installation of the DMIS software was clarified.
