



The Central Committee for Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday. Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, in his capacity as the Committee Chairman, attended the meeting and gave a speech.
The Senior General said the driving force for economy will be improved by encouraging the MSME businesses. The major requirements for MSME businesses are availability of raw materials, inputs, capital and human resources.
The basic reason for encouraging the MSMEs is to promote local production, import substitution and boosting imports. If the local businesses were effectively implemented, it could help promote job opportunities, productions and income generation of the country.
He also stressed the importance of Digital Transformation for MSME businesses, while striving to keep abreast with the ASEAN countries. He urged all to make strenuous efforts for socio-economic development through the people-centered-approach.
Vice Chairman of the Central Committee Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win explained the formation of the Central Committee and Work Committee and efforts for MSME development.
It was followed by the reports on work progress, being undertaken and future plans by the Secretary of the Central Committee Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than.
Members of the Central Committee and officials later reported on the work undertakings in respective sector. In response to the reports, the Prime Minister gave concluding remarks, calling for collaborative efforts of all concerned persons in an effort for development of MSME businesses.
