









Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held a meeting with departmental personnel, townselders and MSME entrepreneurs in Meiktila on Thursday.
Officials provided update reports on development works in the region including agriculture and livestock breeding, reconstruction of damaged infrastructures, education, power supply and water access as well as transportation and greening activities.
In response to the reports, the Prime Minister stressed the needs to emphasize for regional development and socio-economic development of people, creating Green Zones for ensuring fair climatic condition. He also pointed out the need to avoid using major farmlands in urban development projects.
He also called for cooperation of all concerned persons for development of education, health, economic, agriculture and other sectors in the region. The Union Ministers later explained the government efforts for development of Meiktila region, with the provisions of assistance for agriculture and livestock sector.
The Prime Minister also discussed to conduct systematic research works that can contribute to the economic progress of the nation, while striving to boost production for local sufficiency and exporting the surplus.
He reiterated that plans are underway to hold a free and fair multi-party democratic general election by the end of the year, and called for cooperation of all individuals for successful holding of the election. After the meeting, the Prime Minister visited MSME businesses in Meiktila and inspected the production process.
