MSC Cruises signs order for two ships at Saint-Nazaire shipyard

Swiss company MSC Cruises signed a €3.5 billion contract to build two new ships in Saint-Nazaire, France. The deal was announced during the Choose France summit in Paris. The new ships will focus on innovation to reduce maritime emissions.

They will use LNG, a cleaner fuel than traditional oil. The vessels will be equipped with electric charging systems for use in ports. Advanced water treatment systems will prevent waste discharge into the sea. The order strengthens France’s position in next-generation shipbuilding and also reinforces the country’s commitment to environmental standards in maritime transport. 

The construction will support regional expertise and industrial excellence.
