Mount Slamet‘s status raised to ‘caution’

The status of mount Slamet in Central Java has been raised from normal to caution. Logistic emergency head of Pemalang Disaster Mitigation Agency confirmed, the status increase after observing an increase of volcanic activities since Thursday morning.

The agency has been monitoring the volcano’s activity and coordinated with local government to mitigate status increase. During the ‘caution’ status, mountain hikers and local communities are advised to do their activities two kilometers away from the volcano’s crater.
