Workers have installed an entrance gate on Mount Fuji's Yoshida Trail in Yamanashi Prefecture ahead of the climbing season to regulate visitor numbers. This measure aims to address issues like reckless climbing practices and unauthorized camping, ensuring safety and minimizing disruptions for hikers.

Starting July 1, access to the trail will be limited to 4,000 climbers daily, with the gate closed from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. Climbers will be charged 2,000 yen per person. The gate, completed on Monday, signifies a stricter adherence to climbing rules this year for a safer mountain experience.
