Mount Etna resumes activity with the phenomenon of spattering

After almost seven months of relative calm, Mount Etna in Italy has resumed its Strombolian activity. The so-called "spattering" activity is ongoing from a volcanic vent in the main Central Crater of the volcano. The volcanic cone has widened in recent days resulting in the outflow of lava.
