Morocco Celebrates History of the Caftan

Agadir hosts the 4th edition of the International Forum "History of the Caftan" celebrating the history of the Moroccan caftan and the Cultural diversity of Morocco.

These Forum would be take place from December 13th to 15th, 2024.The forum aims to contribute to parallel cultural and diplomatic events with the goal of adding the Moroccan caftan to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, protecting this cultural and creative legacy, and showcasing the history of the Moroccan caftan as a symbol of Moroccan elegance and luxury.

The program of the International Forum will include meetings and workshops on the first two days for knowledge exchange, as well as field visits to fashion houses in the city to learn about the artistic skills involved in caftan embroidery, a craft passed down through Moroccan families.

The forum will conclude with a cultural and artistic ceremony on Sunday, December 15, 2024, attended by official and diplomatic figures, including ambassadors.
