


Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita announced in Baghdad on Saturday the reopening of the Morocco's Embassy. The embassy in the Iraqi capital had remained shut for 18 years due to security reasons.
Bourita said the reopening is “a strong sign on the depth of these relationships and on Morocco’s trust and His Majesty’s trust in the new Iraq, its stability, and its new pathway.”
Hussein also said “it is crucial for Iraq to build a relationship with the Kingdom of Morocco, in order to start the build of futuristic solid relationships with various African countries.” Both foreign ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding between the two countries.
