Quarantine centers have been set up across the country for COVID-19 prevention and control. In Magwe Region, works are underway to set up more quarantine sites as the number of returnees from overseas is large. Currently, there are 59 quarantine sites in the region where 724 returnees have been placed in, Aunglan Township Health Officer said.

Health Officer, Aunglan Township, Dr. Myo Lwin said “Aunglan is one of the townships in the region which receives a large number of returnees from overseas.  So we need more quarantine sites and we have been working on it – we expect to get more sites day by day.”

There are over 2,200 returnees from overseas in Aunglan Township alone. YwarHtaung Basic Education High School is one of the quarantine sites in the region.

Headmaster, YwarHtaung Basic Education High School, Soe Thant Moe said “Healthcare measures are carried out twice a day here. We need more masks. We have enough soaps and hand gel.”

Preparations were already made at Sitagu Zawtika Eye Hospital to quarantine the returnees from overseas. Well-wishers have been donating cash and medical aid to quarantine centers, it’s learnt.
