





During the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, more than 2.3 billion inter-regional trips were made across China, showed official data released on Wednesday.
The total included approximately 96.12 million railway trips, 2.2 billion road trips, 9.35 million waterway trips, and 18.29 million air trips.
On Tuesday alone, the country’s railway system saw 17.04 million passenger trips, bringing total number of railway passenger trips for the Spring Festival holiday to 96.26 million, as reported by China State Railway Group.
As the holiday ended, the country’s transportation network saw a predictable decrease in overall passenger trips, while the number of migrant workers returning to work and students heading back to school increased.
