Monsoon trees planting: Saplings cultivated for monsoon season in Monhyin

Forest Department of the Monhyin township, Kachin State has cultivated over 1 million saplings for 2023 Monsoon tree planting season at the Myoma nursery garden. The aims are to be green environment, to prevent deforestation, to get the fresh air and to use enough firewood.

Plants suitable for the region such as teaks, iron woods, neems, mesua ferrea, gum-kino, mahogany, star flower and pine trees will be cultivated during monsoon season. Saplings and seedlings will be distributed to people, the forest plantations owned by the local groups, for the village firewood plantations and the plantations on the both side of the railway line, said that an officer of Mohnyin Township Forest Department.
