Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony: Senior-General joins the event in Nay Pyi Taw

The 2nd 2023 Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony of the Office of the Commander in Chief (Army, Navy and Air) took place on 14th July near Yezin Dam in Zeyarthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

During the ceremony, the Senior General and wife planted teakwood sapling. Then, the senior military officers and their wives, military officers, Tatmadawmen and family members planted saplings at designated places. 

The Senior General and wife and party viewed and encouraged the tree planting process. A total of 3,528 saplings including teak, acacia mangium and gumkino were planted during the ceremony.

These monsoon tree planting ceremonies have been conducted by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, and Air) and their family members since 2011, aiming to promote greening and biodiversity conservation in the Yezin Dam area, and this event marks the 37th ceremony.

A total of 188,055 tree were planted from 2011 to 2023. Additionally, monsoon tree planting ceremonies were held at respective regional commands and more than 227,000 saplings were planted during those ceremonies, held at Nay Pyi Taw Command, Northern Command, Northeast Command, Eastern Command, Eastern Central Command, Triangle Region Command, Southeast Command, Coastal Region Command, Yangon Region Command, Southwest Command, Western Command, Northwest Command, Central Command and Southern Command.
