Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony: Over 1,400 saplings planted at Naypyitaw State PolyU

2024 Second Monsoon Tree planting ceremony was held at the compound of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing stressed that nowadays, Environmental Engineering subject has been widely studied to attain environmentally sustainable development. It also plays a crucial role in producing pedigree saplings, managing watershed areas, forest restoration and conservation of biodiversity, water area and soil. 

The Prime Minister added that plans are underway to grow a total of 22.332 million saplings including the state-owned forest plantations during this year rainy season. As the government is making exerted efforts in shaping Nay Pyi Taw Council Area as a Green City, Clean City and Smart City, the concerted efforts of the relevant individuals are necessary in creating pleasant learning environment at Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University and greening and cleaning of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

Then, the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing planted Kantkaw sapling at the designated area, followed by planting of saplings by the participants at the designated areas concurrently.

Over 1,400 saplings including Kantkaw, Starflower and Padauk were planted during the ceremony. Later, the Prime Minister and party inspected the view point area within Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University, and the completion of 3-storey main building, staff housing, classrooms, dormitories, sports ground and library, heard reports on further work implementations and provided necessary instructions.

Established on 12th of November in 2022, Naypyitaw Techonological University is providing 7 engineering subjects aiming to turn out qualified engineers who can contribute to the regional and socio-economic development of the people. In order to provide Computer Science and related subjects in upcoming Academic Year, the Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University is being established.
