Monsoon season tree planting: Rakhine State CM joined the tree planting

2024 Monsoon Season tree planting ceremony was held in the compound of No (1) Basic Education High School in Sittwe in the morning on 22nd June and attended by the Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers, departments, civil societies organizations, teachers and students.

At the ceremony, chief Minister U Htein Lin explained the purposes of organizing monsoon season tree planting, the negative impacts in the developing countries including Myanmar which are rich with the forest natural resources, man-made forest deforestations and forest degradation and efforts for the preservation of ecosystem and the collective forest restoration etc.

Next, the Chief Minister and officials handed the saplings to be planted to the departments and the Chief Minister, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers planted flamboyant, mahogany and yellow bells trees.

Then, the Chief Minister and party encouraged the tree planting by the departmental personnel, teachers, students, representatives of civil society organizations.

During the monsoon season tree planting ceremony in Sittwe, a total of 1110 trees including flamboyant, mahogany, margosa, Manjansha, yellow bells trees were planted, it’s reported.
