Monsoon Paddy Plantation: Efforts for boosting per acre yield of monsoon paddy

A pilot monsoon paddy cultivation by Rainbow Services Cooperatives Association is being carried out at 2.84 acres land plot in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended the occasion and said the event aims to disseminating the knowledge of yieldings, expenses and benefit of the using of nurturing method to farmers.

This cultivating method uses balanced ratio of natural and chemical fertilizers. He pointed out the need to make arrangements for constant water supply by means of solar system. Then, the Union Minister and party encouraged the cultivation process in the pilot plantation. GW 18 paddy seeds are being cultivated by nurturing method during this year monsoon, and it is expected to yield 120 basket per acre.

In 2022, GW 11 paddy seeds were cultivated by three methods – seedling, scattering and nurturing.  130 baskets per acre yielding have been achieved by nurturing method, while 126 baskets by scattering and 101 baskets by seedling method respectively
