






In Agriculture sector of Minbu Township of Magway Region, it is targeted to cultivate over 40,000 acres of monsoon paddy in 2023 and currently, over 18,000 acres have been cultivated.
The paddy growers in Magway region mostly cultivate monsoon paddy species such as AyeyaMyay , Manorthukha and Yadanar Toe in irrigated areas and cultivated areas with natural rain water with 6 ways to get irrigated water.
Likewise, the related departmental staff are conducting survey on agricultural inputs and agriculture techniques in cooperation with paddy growers, to use right cultivation methods, to increase yield per acre and to produce targeted yielding amount of rice during the cultivation season.
According to the head officer of the Department of Agriculture (Magway), monsoon paddy species are being cultivated with different methods based on the availability of irrigated water, growers and machines.
The department conducted the survey on preparation processes, practical works and caring of paddy plants in using direct seeding method.
In the areas where have difficulties to get irrigated water, Yae Nae Lon and Yat Ta Yar paddy species are cultivated with pure seeds growing method.
In 2022-2023, about 40,745 acres of monsoon paddy were cultivated and 83.55 baskets of rice were produced per acre in average. Besides 7 groups of paddy growers from 11 village-tracts, also 17 growers planted monsoon paddy in 506 acres to produce paddy seeds.
