Monsoon Activity: MoALI holds Monsoon tree planting ceremony

Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held its Monsoon Tree-Planting Ceremony 2023 at the Ngalite Dam in Oattrathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Saturday.

The ceremony was attended by the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Deputy Minister Dr. Tin Htut, Permanent Secretary and Director General, officials and local bamboo growers.

At the ceremony, Union Minister, Deputy Minister and attendees planted teak, Iron-wood, Mahogany, Tamalan and bamboo trees. And the Union Minister inspected tree plantation of local bamboo growers.

The Union Minister gave necessary instructions on the reports of annual monsoon tree planting, conservation process of trees, and storage and distribution of drinking water and irrigated water for the locals.

In this year monsoon tree planting ceremony, the Ministry planted over 520 saplings. It’s learnt that, the Ministry held monsoon tree planting ceremonies at Yaesin Dam in 2019, Chaung Ma Ngae Dam in 2021 and Paung Laung Dam in 2022.
