Monsoon Activity : 2nd Tree Planting Ceremony of C-in-C Office

On 5th July, the 2nd Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony of families of Commander-in-Chief Office (Army, Navy, and  Air) was held near Yezin Dam in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.

The ceremony was also attended by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief Army, Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air) General Kyaw Swar Lin and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife and high ranking and senior military officials and families.

At the ceremony, the Senior General and wife planted teak sapling at the designated area and oversaw the collective tree planting of the attendees. During the ceremony, a total of 2,400 tree saplings of teak, Burmese ironwood, Padauk and Mahogany were planted.

In order to secure healthy natural environment and thriving ecosystem of Yezin Dam area, tree planting ceremonies have been held annually since 2011. As of today, over 206,000 trees including teak, perennial, fruit and shade trees were planted around Yezin Dam area. Likewise, monsoon tree planting ceremonies were held concurrently at respective military command and more than 137,000 tree saplings were planted during the ceremonies.
