Monastic Education: Learning Opportunity For Orphans And Children

Out of 45 townships in Yangon Region, there are 229 monastic education schools in 37 townships with 2,403 volunteer teachers in 2021-2022 academic year.

About 400 students are learning education at Pin NyarTheit Pan monastic school in Mayangone Township.

Buddanta Pyinnya Sami, Head, Pin NyarTheit Pan Monastic School said “We provide KG classes to post-primary school classes. Our motto is “To promote society through education”. The government provides enough stationaries and teaching aids for the students and we also support our school as much as we can. There are 11 teachers at my school. Most of the students attending here are the orphans from rural and border areas and we teach them both school education and Buddha teaching. We also accept the students nearby.”

Pin Nyar Theit Pan Monastic School is nurturing younger generation to be educated ones and to become the good citizens. The number of students attending monastic schools has increased this academic year and there are over 50,000 students.
