It bears a striking likeness to the masterpiece but this early 17th century portrait of Lisa Gherardini, known as the Mona Lisa, is not Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa that millions visit and photograph each year at the Louvre museum.

This reproduction was painted about a century later, according to French auction house which is selling it at an auction on Tuesday evening. The bid price is expected to start at around 173,912 USD. The artist is not known but is considered to have come from the "school of Fontainebleau." The real Mona Lisa was exhibited in the Fontainebleau castle around that time.
