Mon National Day: Commemoration Ceremony Held In Mawlamyine

A Commemoration Ceremony for Diamond Jubilee Mon National Day took place in Mawlamyine on 16th February. Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun said every national race, residing in Myanmar, is preserving the literature and traditional customs.

With a long history, Mon nationals are the first tribe, that habitat in Myanmar. The Government is striving for national reconciliation and peace process in order to achieve harmonious development of the places where the national races are residing.

The Chief Minister called for harmonious efforts of all national brethren for the interest of the nation. A message sent by the Union Minister for National Races Affairs was also read out, followed by the reading of messages and research paper on Mon literature and culture.
