On March 28 Israeli forces conducted airstrikes targeting Beirut's southern suburbs, a region known for its strong Hezbollah presence.

These strikes resulted in significant destruction, including the collapse of residential buildings. Prior to the attacks, the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings to residents in areas such as Hadath, urging them to leave due to the anticipated operations.

This military action is part of a broader context of heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. In September 2024, a significant strike targeted a building in the al-Qaem neighborhood, resulting in numerous casualties, including senior Hezbollah figures. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported at least 45 deaths, with 68 injuries, following that attack.
