MoFA-WFP Meeting: Union Minister receives Country Director & Resident Rep

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Country Director and Resident Representative of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Myanmar Mr. Stephen Anderson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, the WFP’s Country Director and Resident Representative briefed the Union Minister on the updates of the signing of the new LoU regarding the Country Strategic Programme (2023) as well as the WFP operations in Myanmar.

The Union Minister discussed the cooperation between Myanmar and WFP and matters related to providing necessary humanitarian assistance in the context of disaster and stressed closed cooperation with the Myanmar government in rehabilitation measures for those affected by the cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’.
