Modern Agricultural Practices: Summer paddy harvesting at Taegyikone Village

Taegyikone Village-tract in Nay Pyi Taw Zabuthiri Township celebrated the harvest of its summer paddy model plot on Saturday. Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, U Min Naung, attended the event to support the activity.

During his visit, the Union Minister met with officials and local farmers, emphasizing the importance of conducting surveys to implement crop standardization and agricultural statistics in line with changing trends. He also highlighted the need for modern agricultural practices to ensure the sustainability of agricultural products.

The summer paddy model plot yielded 139 baskets of raw paddy per acre. The Department of Agricultural Research will assess the yield of dried paddy following further processing.
