Models glide on pirogues in Dakar’s ocean-themed Fashion Week

Dakar Fashion Week 2025 featured a stunning ocean-themed show where models walked or glided on traditional pirogue canoes in the waters off Ngor Island, transforming the sea into a runway and blending fashion with nature and local culture for an immersive, fluid experience.

"The theme was the ocean, the magic of the sea and fashion combined," said Senegales fashion designer and organizer Adama Paris. This innovative event highlighted Senegal's avant-garde spirit, showcasing vibrant textiles, architectural silhouettes, and rich heritage, serving as a powerful prelude to the event's 25th anniversary next year.
