In the flood-stricken community of Swannanoa, North Carolina, volunteer veterinarians are delivering essential care to pets impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Raechel Callehan, Resident of Black Mountain said "I came here today because there are a bunch of cats that have been left in Old Fort over the mountain, and they're being bulldozed out of their homes, so I'm trying to trap them and get medicine to get them treated at my house."
As residents work to rebuild their lives, a mobile clinic has been set up to provide critical medical treatment to animals, offering a source of relief for pet owners amid the devastation. This initiative highlights the community's commitment to caring for its animals during challenging times.
