Misleading Information: Yangon Region Gov’t denies rumors of forced porter jobs

In response to misleading missing person advertisements circulating on social media, the Yangon Region Government has refuted claims that individuals are being taken for porter jobs in the region.

The false information also suggests a decrease in street activity during the night, early shop closures, and workers returning home early, contributing to unwarranted public panic.

The spokesperson for the Yangon Region Government has stated that these rumors are baseless and aimed at sowing discord among the public, creating misunderstandings on the Government, Tatmadaw, and local administrative bodies.
