Minister: 8 dead in Georgia helicopter crash

Eight people were killed in a helicopter crash during a rescue mission at the ski resort of Gudauri, Georgia's Interior Minister said the incident happened during a rescue operation for two people, a foreign tourist and a Georgian national, caught in a ravine while paragliding.

He confirmed that all people aboard the police helicopter, including the foreign tourist were killed, whilst the Georgian national who was with him was injured. Local media reported that due to the incident, July 30 would be declared a National Day of Mourning in the country.
